Do I have to pack everything myself?
No. Handled provides light packing assistance in Guided Support, and full packing services in Complete Care. Packing support includes organizing and packing household items to reduce stress and save time.
Who handles the heavy lifting and moving?
Handled hires and coordinates professional movers on your behalf. Movers are independent third-party service providers responsible for all heavy lifting, loading, transportation, and unloading.
Do I need to find or book my own movers?
No. We take care of sourcing, scheduling, and coordinating movers, so you don’t have to manage those details.
Do you handle donation drop-offs or estate sales?
Yes. We can coordinate donation deliveries and estate sale services as part of Complete Care, or as an add-on when appropriate.
How are fees charged?
Guided Support: 0.5% of the final sale price
Complete Care: 1% of the final sale price
Fees are plus applicable HST, paid at closing, with no hourly charges or surprise fees. Both packages include a minimum and maximum fee.
What if I need more help than expected?
If additional services are needed beyond your selected package, we’ll discuss it with you first and confirm any changes in writing so expectations stay clear.
What do you mean by estate services?
Estate services refer to the practical side of managing the home and belongings—coordinating sorting, donations, packing, estate sale support, preparing the home, and managing the timeline. Legal and financial matters are handled by your lawyer or executor.
Is Handled a moving company?
No. Handled is not a moving company. It is a layered service of Shirl’s Your Girl Ltd. that brings together licensed real estate expertise, downsizing support, move management, and project management into one coordinated solution. We work alongside trusted professional movers and service providers, coordinating their work on your behalf so you don’t have to manage multiple people or timelines.
